i V  t Presented Annual Staff 1960-61 Wilburton, Oklahoma George Washington oncesaid In Proportion as the structure of government gives force to public opinion, it is essential that public opinion shbuld be enlightened.â The main objective of this school is to enlighten the students and the public in such a way that our people will not fear and discourage trained intelligence at a very time wllfen all over the world the premium upon trained intelligence is constantly becoming higher and higher. We appreciate the splendid way in which the people of our school district cooperate with the administration, school board, student body, and entire personnel in attaining the above objective. We hope each year finds us a little closer attaining this goal. We hope that each student that has attended this school for any length of time can look over this yearbook and recall fond and pleasant mem- ories of a happy and successful adventure. May I close with the following lines (author unknown) which I offer to you as my main message: One step won't take you very far You've got to keep on walking One word won't tell folks who you are You've got to keep on talking One inch won't make you very tall You've got to keep on growing One deed won't do it all You've got to keep on going. Sincerely, Raymond E. Cox Superintendent successful and a credit to the Wilburton High School. My every hope is that I have been, in some way, helpful to the students in their quest for direction in life. I expect to look yvith pride on other students of Wilburton High School as they go out into life to search for BOA!ÂŽ OF EDUCATION Mr. Hughey Boyd Mr. W. F. Abernathy Dr. J. M. We know the Flag Salute, how many stars there are on the American Flag and what they stand for. We can name the two new states. We sing America and God Bless America with reverance. ANNUAL STAFF The Annual Staff of Wilburton High School have enjoyed making another year- book. We would like to thank all the people who have made this annual possible. In a few years, high school will be only a memory to each of us. Our familiar high school way of life will exist only in memories. It would not be possible to put all these memories into pictures and words, but we have tried to include most of the big things, some of the little things, and things that happen every day. L.E.
