WILBUR L CROSS HIGH SCHO0L Cross Hlgh School was renamed and dedlcated rn 1950 AD Our school was renamed for th Wllbuf L e former governor of Connectlcut who served four full terms and who had prev1ously been dean of the Yale Graduate School U nt1l the dedncatlon Cross was Commerclal Hrgh where only commercral subjects were taught Because of the need of another academrc school rn New Haven It was necessary to reorganlze our school on an academ1c basis The c1ty was then d1v1ded 1nto two d1stt1cts w1th students from one drstrlct attend mg Cross and from the other d1str1ct attendmg Hrllhouse Durmg the few short years as Wllbur L Cross the school has achreved much recognmon ID many fields and we senlors smcetely hope that our fol lowers w1ll retaln the hrgh standards whxch we have trned to set 2
