Fleet Footed Soccer Team Ties City Championship This year's ninth grade soccer team, led by some very exciting fleet footed Warriors streaked to a 3-1 record for the city championship with cross town rival Jordan. The team had a few stars in the line- up with Jon George, Kevin Holcomb, and Larry Beyer directing the offensive attack and Roger Cohen and Alan Bishop had the opposition in hysterics with fine defensive efforts. The team was hindered by dissension. Regard- less of this, the team had some memorable moments through the season. In the M-A game,Larry Beyer dribbled through several defenders, and from ap- proximately twenty-five yards out he put his foot into one and meshed the M-A goal. Against Jordan, Jon George put some fancy fakes on fonr Jordan defen- ders twice and made two fine shots to keep Wilbur in the game. Led by George the Warriors marched to a 3-1 lopsided victory. The season was a gas, and the team enjoyed playing together.
