Recreation Department Sponsors Interest Clubs Under the auspices of the Palo Alto Recreation department, in- terest clubs are formed which meet either at noon or after school. Many sponsor money- raising activities such as car washes and candy sales in order to support their causes. The Chess Club, sponsored by Mr. Hill participated in chess tour- naments in the city and with other clubs. The Foster child club, lead by Mrs. Wolfrom, concentrated on raising enough money to support Romeo. Money is sent to Romeo every month in the Philippines to help him obtain a better education and basic necessities. The Ecology Club attempted to make others aware of their own environment through activities and campaigns to clean the campus. Art Club and Fllm and Llterary Club Interest Many Under the guidance of Mr. Kinnear, members of the art club pictured above made dolls for charity during the Christmas season. Many hours were spent in room 41 trying to complete them for the holiday. Under Mr. Kaplan, the Film and Literary Club explored films and literature as part of their varied activities.
