Creating an interest in a new and differ- ent language, the Mills Math department teaches students to speak in terms of formulas, equations, and mathematical def- initions. Math offered at Mills is expanding more each year, with a variety of courses such as Applied Math, Algebra I and H, Geometry, and Analysis, which has ad- vanced the department considerably in striving for academic goals. The math department is teaching this mathematical language in order to aid collegefbound students who will rely heavily on it during later vears of learning.
