5 X5 mf'1 -xrfll Q, QQ 5 31umnr Gllawa Hlltztnrg It was wlth no httle trepldatlon that the Class of 1930 first recogmzed It self as a body 1n the fall of 1926 It IS wrth no l1ttle sat1sfact1on that we s1t back now and revxew the three ensumg years years 1n whrch the class has ach1eved much to br1ng to rtself respect and admxratlon Certalnly no class could have made 1ts publlc debut more RUSPICIOUSIY than d1d the Class of 1930 1n its Sophomore Dance The untmng efforts of those of 1ts members comprlslng the dance commlttee unexcelled decora tions excellent muslc and an enviable number in attendance comblned to make rt a never to be forgotten occaslon Nor were there to be heard 1n th1s the followmg year any expresslons of d1sappo1ntment over the dance held 1n It IS not to be thought however that 1n soclal d1rect1ons only were the activities of 1ts members to be found In our Sophomore year the Corps at large was surprlsed to dlscover that there were among 1ts members many who ably proved the1r abrhty as pub11c speakers The Sophomore Declama t1ons Junlor Oratlons and Techmcal Essays reaped a beautiful harvest Athlet1cally It would seem that the Class had more than its share of represen tation It must be remembered that 1n baseball no lesser figures than our own J1mmy Schaubel otherwlse known as Cutle Bud Shaw and .Tack Hanna were stellar attractlons that ln boxmg Rene Montrezza quickly placed h1s opponents hors de combat and that Stew Raub threw a bl1nd1ng ra1n of rlghts and lefts that in basketball the triumvlrate composed of Bud Shaw Fuzzy Wrlght CCapta1n 19293 and Charley Jack more than made the1r pres ence felt and finally that 1n football the class excelled itself J ack Nickels Bucky Hayes B111 Stern Bud Shaw Fuzzy Wnght Jack Hanna Monty Charley Jack McKee and Neafie Rlchardson the prophet gave the1r best which was plenty' Nor should lt be forgotten that on the Rifle Team the most strenuous of sports our own E Sovere1gn McKee scored some mean bulls eyes And so 1t IS wrth no little ant1c1pat1on and confidence that the Class IS looklng forward to a most successful and pleasant last year to be spent 1n these time honored halls of P M C Surely the three years just passed are never to be regretted ones . 4 .,, 1... syqsb- 4- em- 1 ' 1 , . .
