Up those long golden Stairs toward Saint Peter's gate march the members of the Class of '55 . As Saint Peter checks off the names, he asks our class members what they have done during their long stay on the earth. Our fellow classmate Roger Brunetti leads the troop and goes to bat for all of us because he had been a professional baseball player. As Roger takes over, the first to walk up is Pat Funk who had spent her life caring for new-born babies in Wicklif f e 's ultra-modem hospital. Following Pat we see three stately women who have given their lives to help others through nursing. They are none other than Joanne Scott, Sharon Williams, and Mary Lee. Seeing the smile on Saint Peter's face we know he is proud to welcome them to stand beside Florence Nightingale. As St. Peter moves to the next name on his list we recognize Bob Cowen. We learn that Bob has been the owner and operator of a nationally known chain of drug stores, devoted entirely to the filling of prescriptions. Bob has done well not only financially but he feels a satisfaction that he has taken part in helping people get well again. Following Bob we see Marilyn Clark. Marilyn has worked endlessly as a lab tech- nician d oing research. Her life may not have been exciting but her careful work has aided research and helped millions with her discoveries. Saint Peter is very pleased and he moves to the next name which is that of George Groom. George has been in the plumbing business for over fifty years and is noted for his fine elbow joints. Standing behind George we see Barbara Knapp who has helped Georgie keep his books in order. At Barbara 's right we see Velma Scipione. Velma has devoted her time to her house and the small family she has reared. Talking to Velma we see Gigi Kusevlch. Gigi and Velma are discussing their methods of rearing children. Virginia has raised six children and thinks she is qualified to discuss this problem. Taking part in 'the discussion also is Enna Tirabasso who has been in charge of research on juvenile de- linquency. Emia has seen many cases and knows through research that a child's character is formed at home. The next pe rson on Saint Peter's list is Phil Drenik. Phil started working in a gas station while in high school and had worked his way up the ladder until he was main stock holder in the 'More Mile' Oil Company. The next person to answer to Saint Peter is Ronnie Kehm. We learn from Ronnie of his many experiences on the Santa Fe as Chief Engineer. Following Ronnie we see Frank DeCapua who has reached his ambition as head barber for the Statler Hotels. Behind Frank we see Annette Cappelli who was one of the world's greatest hair stylists. Talking to Annette we see Anne Bowers who has had an excellent career on the Broadway stage. Anne has starred in over 20 Broadway productions. Following Annie is Bemard Preske with his hunting relics which he plans to take in- side the Golden Gates. He is the holder of the world's national record for African expeditions. Mimi Cappelli, his right hand girl Friday, is directly behind him carrying an elephant tusk as well as many other trophies of his expeditions. Coming up to the gate, Bill Yanesh, hearing of a leak in Heaven, told Saint Peter he would gladly repair the roof at a discount. Keeping Bill's book and figuring the dis- count is none other than Marge Lafferty, his secretary. Nextwehear the voice of the renowned evangelist Mr. Ronald Holman, better known to us as Duffy, telling Saint Peter of the people whom he has reformed. Duffy's one main goal, to find Ronny Nasco a wife, was never accomplished. Ronny Nasco still has the title of America's number one playboy. A sty lishyoung lady comes into view, the designer of Sak's Fifth Avenue windows, Miss Frances Robatin. Working under her as art designer was Diane LeQuyea. The famous architectural- engineer from Cleveland, Ed Bowers, now comes forward to plead his case with Bob Gallese his head c a rpente r . Their most beautiful and most expensive building now stands on the campus of Case Institute of Technology. Coming forward now is the President of Case, Marilyn Nass, who finally attained her Ph. D de- gree in Mechanical Engineering. Planning to televise their original show The Heavenly Host , Chipper Burkhardt and Fred Ki l llan , owners and producers of their own television stations have brought their television cameras along with them. Carrying the script for the programs is Miss Bar- bara Pope. Behind Barbara we see Tony DiMattia with his measuring tape. Tony has made good as an undertaker. With Tony is lim Delmar who is noted for his abstract coffin designs. Next in line we see Rose Turrin and Jack Hillier who are discussing mathematical problems. Jack and Rose were co-heads of the math department at Ohio University. Following them in line are two military men, Tom Bliss and Carl Lemponen. Tom was a general in the Army and Carl was a general in the Air Force. They seem to be arguing over the relative importance of each department. After this we see Pat Vinch, who after college, reared her family and took the office of President of Wickliffe's P.T,A. for many years. Advancing now toward the gate we see Don Luciani who made his fame and fortune by giving advice to the leading military experts of the world. Following quickly upon his heels we find Gail Dye who was given the honor of recording his memoirs in short- hand. Then we see Jim Wollpert traveling under atomic power in his original rocket-ship. He sails right through the Golden Gate because he is used to this kind of thing having gone to the Moon very early in his life. The last four in line are Barbara Coates, Mickey Weber, Marian Weier, and Marilyn Marsh. Barbara went to Australia as a missionary and had great success at a satisfying career converting the many tribes of Bushmen to Christianity. In America Marian and Mickey contributed to Barbara's success by their fine work in the New York branch of- fice. Marilyn also helped in the Washington slums doing social work for congressmen. On the whole Saint Peter was very pleased with the batch. He was pleased with their work on earth and was looking forward to the further perfection of heaven by the Class of '55 .
