By now, everybody has already heard all the rumors and rhetoric about Women's Liberation. We have been called Communists, man-haters, home-wreckers andjust about everything else that this frightened country can think of. What we are is women. Women of all ages, political persuasions and life-styles, coming together to rekindle a belief in women as people. We want to break down the barriers in society that condemn us to predetermined lives of drudgery and shitwork. It's time for us to take our place as fully functioning human beings. We are tired of our Victorian pedestalsj we are sick of the American Dream. We want women to be recognized as people: talented, beautiful and free. It is past time for women to break out of the roles that society has im- S posed on us. Women's Liberation is for men also. They too have had l a part of their personalities amputated by this society. The strain of fulfilling a role lsihe is not suited for can rob anyone man or woman, ofa happy life. We need to destroy the artificialities of our lives and give everyone an honest choice. Let's make the full range of human potentiali- ties available to everyone. For me, the real meaning of Women's Liberation is choice. Free choice to be and do anything that makes v you happy, regardless of society's definitions ofsex roles. If being a housewife lor househusbandj makes you happy, then do it. If you want to be a career person, then do it. Be what you are, and let sex roles go to hell. 5! Vf A Lg., at L 2922 27
