Fine Arts College Administers Music, Art The composer Lieurance became Dean of the Fine Arts College when the departments of Mu- sic and Fine Arts separated from the Liberal Arts College. The Department of Music was originally housed in Fiske Hall. Since then it has been locat- ed in the Commons building, on the fourth floor of the science building, in the Psychology Labo- ratory, and Duerksen Fine Arts building. Clayton Stables was the first head of the Art Department which was located in the old Fair- mount Libary until it burned down. The building was reconstructed and now again houses the Art department. The present staff of both Music and Art De- partments combined is fifty full-time instructors and twenty-two part-time instructors and fellows.
