Beau Culwell and Amy Merriman discuss their '5O's Day Attire. Spirit d stud nts dress up The halls were filled by enthusiastic spirited students who insisted on not letting the limited number of dress up days get them down. The year started off with various shapes and patterns of ties as students raided dad's closet on Tie Day. Then followed Stripe Day and Red and Black Day. The students went back in time on 26 A Slice of Life Fifties Day in their own creations. On Sweat Day, many students wore sweat- shirts and on Overall Day, many wore overalls. Students seemed to enjoy button day because everyone had many inter- esting buttons for others to read. I think dressing up shows you've got school spirit, Michelle Foley, jun- ior, said.

Easy Task It's no easy task putting on a play, but with a hard-working, experienced cast of actors, set crew, and a dedi- cated director, it can be accomplished. No group realized this more than the Thespians with their production of Meet Me In St. Louis. In only four weeks, this ensemble of actors man- aged to put on one of the best produc- tions seen in years. I felt the play was a success, and I'm proud of my students for all of their hard work, Mr. Patrick Jackson said. Set in the early 1900's, the play called for an elaborate, authentic set with period furniture, wallpaper, props, and lavish costumes. Some cos- tumes were borrowed from the Back- door Theater, but many cast members were able to put together their own. We all had a great time finding our costumes and getting into make-up, cast member Fawn Arnold said. While the cast proceeded with re- hearsals every day after school, the stage crew worked hard to produce the detailed parlor of the Smith family's home. Mr. Jacksonis patience and the cooperation of the actors were a vital part of the play's success, cast mem- ber Kathryn St. Clair said. ln spite of the demanding rehearsal schedule and large cast, this dedicated group performed Meet Me In St. Louis to the delight and enjoyment of the audience. Were those the right lines, Mr. Jackson? ask Bernadette Shauver and Fawn Arnold during rehearsal. There, there now, says Mr. Smith, Richard Sutton, as he comforts Rose, played by Lovdy Hamm.
