wwf After a long night, seniors still wear happy faces to the Berkeley Breakfast, ,, Through the Years Friendships are a vital part of high school life. The cherished memories that we have created with ourfriends will be reflected on throughout our lives. From our first Hirschi Hash when we were freshmen to graduation, our grow- ing maturity enhanced our appre- ciation of the qualities of true friendship. Through all of our joyous times and our sad times, through the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat, we have discovered that our friends will always be there to either encourage us orto console us. No matter how trivial the situ- ation is, whether it is lending us lunch money, giving us a ride, or covering upfor us, we can always count on our friends to help us out. High school has allowed us to learn the value of friendship and that friends are earned and not given. Whenthetlme comesforusto part and go our separate ways, we will always remember the friendsthat we have made. Even if not physically, our high school friends willalways bethere. They are our friends for life. 22 A Slice of Life if QQ it if . -r ,,.a.wwAhfft', , .sa .i ' ts, it t r issts t,, High flue is shared between friends

Howd One of the biggest weeks of the year is called simply Howdy, Started in 1952, the tradition of se- lecting the friendliest boy and girl as Mr. and Miss Howdy has grown into a week filled with dress-up days, and an assembly of skits and musical presenta- tions by the students. The climax is a western dance. This year the DJ was The Rock'in Machine. Robert Woodruff and Keri Plummer received the traditional western crown from Principal Burtt Lauck as the thir- ty-fifth Mr. and Miss Howdy. The celebration of friendliness is Anything But Ordinary.
