The year of the Coyote finally came. Spirits were high as we went into our eighth season without a victory. Preparations for the game included hall decorations, a Raider Roast at Coyote Canyon, and gym decorations for which there was a large turnout. The victory break- fast was held at different homes for each class. Following the breakfast, stu- dents caravanned behind the band to school. Throughout the day, the halls echoed with jingles from mums and whistles encouraging BEAT RIDER. The pep rally had a large turnout of students and parents which filled the gym. The pep rally was highlighted by the annual pie in the face contest is sponsored by FTA and this year there was a tie. The winners for los- ersj were Coach Rodney Bagley and Coach Danny Palmer. The cli- max of the week was the crosstown rivalry game. Even though the weather was miserable, the fans were still there to back 'the pack. The players did not let them down with a 20-6 vic- tory. g ? i 24 CoyotefRider Week Activities lead T is 1 .E V . 4 f E. 3 4

50's Beat goes on When the clock strikes two, three and four, if the band slows down we'1l yell for more,', was a fa- miliar tune in everyone's head on 50's Day. The fads of 50's were il- lustrated by the number of stu- dents who dressed up. The styles varied from leather jackets, white tee shirts, rolled up straight legged jeans, slicked back hair to pony- tails, bobbie socks, and poodle skirts. The 50's day was a great suc- cess with Christy Allen and John Thomas chosen as best dressed. K Q 26 Fifties Day
