Courses, such as typing, bookkeeping and shorthand, train students for positions as efficient business employees. Through a program of office practice, students gain practical experience by working in the vari- ous school offices. Students acquire a knowledge of business standards and finance through study of economics and commercial law. Mechanical drawing and shop provide understanding of the technical aspects of business, leading to positions as engineers, architects or skilled craftsmen. Me- chanical drawing trains students for jobs involving shape description, tracing and blue printing. A combination of recreation and competition impresses the student with good sportsmanship and develops his ability to associate with others. Participation in events, such as tumbling, basketball, soccer, baseball and volleyball, aid in the development of stronger bodies. The annual gym show provides all physi- cal education classes with the opportunity to demonstrate their skill in exercises, sports and gymnastics.
