Sewing teaches the fun- damentals of making a wearable and attractive garment. The homemaking course presents each girl an opportu- nity to learn something that will be of great use to her and those around her in future years. MRS. WILLIAM J. WHITE, B.S North Texas State College Lettering is an important phase of art training. ART W Underlying principles taught in WFSH art courses are apparent in the enviroment of everyone. These influences are seen each day in homes, advertisements, clothes and buildings. Beginning art classes learn techniques of printing, sketching, clay sculpture, painting, drawing and copper enameling. After acquiring a knowl- edge of the fundamentals of art, the student in VVFSH may enroll in advanced art courses where he begins oil painting and adver- tising work. This effort is often the beginning of interests that may provide enioyment to the student throughout the rest of his life.
