Whether it be as an astronomer, a businessman, a student in school or a housewife, mathematics is an inte g r al part of his existence. Courses to accommodate the mathematical needs of every individual are offered by the department in WFSH. All math courses broaden the reasoning powers of the individual. Study of higher branches of mathematics is available to the student wishing to enter technical fields, for example, Advanced Arith- metic provides an introduction to calculus and analytic geometry. The present generation, because of the higher standards required in all fields, must have a wider understanding of mathematics.
