Of the '49 Coyotes there were two regular starters returning, Billy Bookout and David Fleming. Book transferred from his third base position to shortstop, and Flem returned to the mound. Other returning lettermen included Kermit Cummings and Jack Bryant, infielders, Herbie Taylor, George Bookout and Benny Leggett, outfielders, and Cliff Taylor, a pitcher. The '49 Coyotes won the district championship by defeating Electra in a playoff series. This victory gave theifgoylsotes the right to play Lubbock in the Bi-District playoffs where the Coyotes lost by the scores, 12-6 an - . Because the 1950 Coyote Yearbook went to press before the baseball season was fully underway, the 7950 scores were not available.
