ONE ACT PLAY The Balcony Scene The one-act play this year was quite unique in plot and staging. It told of a man T. Gillen pleads in vain with the girl, C. Doyle. Gangster, I. After getting off to a slow start by receiv- ing a ll-I- at the League Festival, the play went all the Way with a I rating at both District and State. The play was again under the direction of Veteran, Warren Townsend. The cast included: The Man .... Tom Gillen The Friend . . . . . john Ley The Mother . . Lois Holmes The Daughter . . The juniors this year presented one H ' H of the most unique plays ever performed Arsemc and Old Lace at Wccns. The play was a melodrama The cast included: Abby Brewster. . . . Martha Brewster . . Teddy ..... . Mortimer. . . Mr. Hoskins, Mr. Spenalzo .... jonathan ....... Dr. Herman Einstein . . . Rev. Harper ..... . Elain ....... Mr. Gibbs .... Mr. Witherspoon . . . Lois Holmes . . Lynn Cable Kent Christensen . jay Carlisle . .Steve Parker . . . Bob Wiles . Terry Turner Dave Pfanensteil Jane Winchester . . . Jim Gray . . Carl Bishop in three acts with a humorous touch to it. The play was Well received by the audiences on both nights of the perform ance, April 20 and 22. With all the great acting ability brought out this year in the junior play, everyone can look forward to a smash hit next year by the class as seniors. The play was directed by Mr. Gale. S. this year by re- ceiving more I's than any other class B or BB school at the District Contest. Leoti re- ceived eight I's out of fourteen entries. Five of those eight entries received I's at the State Contest. All in all, With Leoti also Winning first place at the WKEA League Contest, Mrs. Templer's speech students did exceedingly Well this year and are very deserving of being'rated superior .
