'-, A two-story building located near the present grade school was the home of both the grade and high school. High school classes were held in a two roomed belfry, the regular four year course being established in 1906. In 1917 the high school was moved to the court house and classes were held there and in the present theater building until September 1926 when they moved into the present building. That year the school became WCCHS and a regular school board was elected. A bond issue of S325, O00 for the building program was approved on March 23, 1954. Rhodes Construction Company began work in September, following plans of Joseph W. Radotinsky, architect. The building was accepted by the Board of Trustees on October 27, 1956. New construction includes the Vocational Agriculture Shop, classrooms, tool rooms, locker room and laboratory rooms. The music department has a combination room that accomodates both the band and the mixed chorus. The old auditorium was remodeled by adding a floor and partitions. This provides a new industrial arts department and cafeteria on the first floor and a library, science room, locker room, and boy's and girl's rest rooms on the second floor. The homemaking and crafts rooms were enlarged. A modern inter-communication system and a master clock that synchro- nizes the time in clocks throughout the building are new features that aid materially in the efficiency of the school. The asphalt tile floors and acous- tical tile ceilings reduce noise to a minimum. Color, as seen on walls of the various rooms and departments give a distinctive note to the building.
