C. H. WENNERBERG Superintendent and Secretary to the Board of Trustees Each person finds, as he goes through life, that he has fime and opportunity to do only a portion of the things which interest hinn. Yet, it is always surprising the nunnber of activi- ties one finds time to perform. The limitations we experience are not so much devices of time as they are expressions of our lack of opportunity and initiative. Happiness is rarely a passive emotion. It is usually an Important part of some activity. Those who will search for a good life, and find it, will pursue happiness, to be sure. They will, in the process, pursue the opportunity to be useful and active. For you graduates, and the rest as well, we hope that your experience here has introduced you to the means for a happy, active life. May you always reflect that you have had the opportunity to fill your time profitably. — C. H. Wennerberg MR. LEWIS MR. GRANDY WHITTIER UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT Superintendent C. H. Every man of us has all of fhe centuries !n him. Gladstone ' s philosophy seems to sum up neatly the objec- tives of our American schools. It Is true that we are never one moment away from the products and progress of man ' s struggle to better himself. Hundreds of years of thought and research are reflected within our experiences and learning at school. Time teaches us to sift out that which is helpful and good from that which is not. Time teaches us to profit from the wisdom of our forefathers. The years spent here at Whittier High School will stay a lifetime with you. It is our hope that your brief span of time with us has helped to point the way to a full and happy life in those years to come. Dana Scott Winters SCHOOL MR. DANA S. WINTERS.
