HISTORY or THE eL.zss OF 1952 Since it is both pleasant and profitable at times to look bro. to enjoy ind evaliate the past, we of the Class of l952 present these experiences of our three years at Whit- tiOI'o 7e began ps not so bashful seventh graders with the new Leneral nducation program, and we are the first class to complete the three year co rse. ' qhile we were eighth 5raders,the ninth grade homo rooms started to put edt the monthly editions of the Ureonleaf. UQ looked forward to our turn which came this year. We worked hard but we enjoyed doing it. ' nnother new experience was the allgrrdo Christmas Earty held in the Gym. It was very successful and we think it should be continued. ' 'restling was started in our ninth year and enjoyed by all who participated. letter movies were offered at noon this last year, bo- cause tickets were sold for a small amount.. This gave us more pleasure during the stormy winter noon hours. Ping Pong and ferial Darts gave us new games and some interesting tournaments were played. Since l923, 'hittier's once warm tan paint has been gettiny a little more tired and grim looking every year. Se, even though we are leaving before it is finished, we are happy to see the new look it is getting from the new paint and the wonderful new stage curtains. he hope the pupils of the future will enjoy it very much. ' During our years in Junior High many students from for- eign countries have entertd our class. We welcomed them and think it is wonderful that they can attend our school and share in the freedom we have always enjoyed. Ue have taken many field trips since the old Civic League trips were dropped. These field trips were both interesting :nd eduertional and took us to new places and new experiences, Our eo-recreationfl program h-s helped us to know each other better and to take part in square and social dancing, We became rather serious in choosing leaders in our grade. first it was the King and Queen of Hearts to reign over our Valentine Assembly. Next we chose 9- Class Officers to handle our spring activities, and kmst were the King and Queen of dcalth who were crowned on our annual Health Day. Qhe Qu party was a wonderful event. Some of the braver ones had dates and all enjoyed the floor show, dnioing, and eats. lt gave us so e wonderful memories to carry with us to Senior figh. ' Do yoithink any of us will ever forget Promotion night? Det's hope our nervousness didn't show too much as we walked across the stage to receiv our Promotion Certificates. Of course we are looking forward to Senior High, but we leave many happy memories of 'nittier.
