Dedication We the members of the 1972 graduating class of Whitney Point Central School proudly and respectfully dedicate our yearbook to Miss Nettie Clark and Mrs. Tressa Corcoran. Both Miss Clark and Mrs. Corcoran have served in this school district as teachers and principals. In their years of retirement from service in public education, we the class of 1972, representing all classes who graduated during their tenure, wish to take this opportunity to thank them for all they have done for education in Whitney Point. Miss Nettie Clark Miss Nettie Clark was born in Greene and first taught in the rural school district in which she was born. She took the old Teachers’ Training Class in Greene and then herself went out to teach in that rural school. From that school she moved to another one-room rural school in Triangle and taught until just prior to centralization of the Whitney Point district in 1936. When she entered the centralized district of Whitney Point she taught fifth and then sixth grades. In 1956 she became elementary prin- cipal. She took many extension courses and received her B. Ed. from Cortland in 1946 and her M. Ed. in 1959. She was elementary principal until her retirement in June 1971. She still makes her home in Greene in the house in which her father farmed. Mrs. Tressa Corcoran Mrs. Tressa Corcoran was born in the Catskills at Branch, N.Y. She received her B.A. in French, Latin and Social Studies from Albany State Teachers College and her M.A. from Syracuse University. She taught at Lisle H.S. in 1934-1935 and was part of the Whitney Point Central School system from its begin- ning until 1967 teaching mostly French and Latin. She was Yearbook Adviser 1940-1970 and Pointer Weekly Adviser 1940-1962. She helped organize the National Honor Society Chapter in the High School and sponsored it until 1970. She became Senior High School Principal in September 1967 and held that post until her retirement in August 1970. Mrs. Corcoran still makes her home in Lisle.
