FOREWORD To everyone the eagle stands as the king of birds. He possesses extraordin¬ ary beauty and intelligence. The Yearbook Staff has chosen the Golden Eagle for their theme as a re¬ minder to all readers that, like the Yearbook itself, they should aim for the utmost in everything they do. As evidence of this fact it is inter¬ esting to note that Edmund DeWan, a 9th grader in 1946, suggested the Eagle as a possible mascot for Whitney Point Cen¬ tral School. He too had high ideals, just as everyone who follows the Golden Eagle in Whitney Point Activities works toward maintaining a goal for them¬ selves . The Yearbook Staff feels that through its collection of the years events it has compounded a lasting memory of the students ' and faculty ' s attainment of beauty and intelligence as exemplified by the Golden Eagle.
