It has been necessary for you to work in order to deserve this diploma. Let this be the guiding principle in your life. Work hard and you will receive the gift and gratitude of all people. Use your eyes to take a long look down the past, use them to see where you can fit best into the life of your community, use them to ascertain where you can serve your fellow man, use them to recognize the sore spots in our civiliza¬ tion. And when you have done all this, use your boundless energies to help shape the destiny of our nation to the end that fam¬ ine, greed, lust, and war are eliminated from our way of life. s. 6
