Voters of the towns of the Central School District voted to centralize the Whitney Point Central School District in December 1934 The new Whitney Point Central School was ready for occupancy in December 19 36 During World War 2 a defense school was run using school facil ities to further the war effort Three building expansions have been completed one in 1948 the second in 1952 and the biggest new addit ion was completed in 1956 At pre sent the school has an enrollment of 1473 Adult Education was added to the school program in September 1955 Since then about 400 adults have made use of IPCS facilities There are 29 grade teachers, one grade supervisor, 36 high school and special teachers and, of course ams All of this spells EDUCATION training for the future DID YOU KNOW? Mrs Evelyn Storrs answers about 50 calls aday that come in on the main switch board and 7 extensions be sides acting as school secretary and receptionist in the main office at WPCS DID YOU KNOW? Vice Principal Osmer J Brooks makes out amounting cafeteria year for ounting to about 375 checks a year to about S45 O00 for the and about 200 checks a student activities am about S12 000 DID YOU KNOW?
