EXPANSION PROGRAM With the central district voters ' approval at the polls on Dec. 13, the Board of Education launched up¬ on the latest building program to meet the needs of Whitney Point Central School ' s ever expanding en¬ rollment. At a cost of $600,000, the new addition will include 14 new classrooms, a new cafeteria, new Ag. Shop and an Industrial Arts shop. The proposed addition will extend from the present boys ' show¬ er room straight back toward the river and will be 2 stories high. An extension of 40 ' on the present main gym will be made to comply with regulations of the State Edu¬ cation Department. The present cafeteria will be converted to a big commercial department. Repro¬ ductions of blueprints for the new addition are on the opposite page. Miss Virginia Hill, off¬ ice assistant, (left) with Mrs. Evelyn Storrs, school secretary. Vice-Principal, Osmer J. Principal TO THE SENIORS, Congratulations to you on your graduation. It has taken many years for you to reach this high point in your life and I am proud of you and proud to have had a small part in helping you achieve a high school diploma. Traditions are important in life, they form the staunch bulwarks against rad¬ icalism and they serve as constant guides to remind us of our heritage and our birthright to the many freedoms on which our country is founded. In keeping with the tra¬ dition that the children of this nation shall receive the best ed¬ ucation possible, your own parents and other citizens of this school district have seen fit to approve the building of a large addition to this school in order that we may serve even better children in the future. It will cost them money but they give it gladly with the sincere hope that an educated peo¬ ple shall always be a free people.
