CLASS OF '47 The fjrst Droject of the Senior class during the year '45-'47 was the Magazine Sale which enriched our treasury by a grand sum of 3469. The salesmanship ability of our class was denoted by the many sales- manship certificates received by individual Seniors. And then came the much longed for event. The Senior Play! And what a play! The title was 'The Ghost of Grand Canyon' with a cast of talented actors and actresses. In the male roles there were Har- old Pennlngroth, Ray Houghton, Hugh Ensign, Floyd Brown, Leaman Burg- hardt, and Victor Sorochinsky, and the girls who played opposite them ' were Cathie Nolan, Jane Myers, Kathleen Stanton, Shirley Henderson, Cathe Dewan and Helen Fulmer. It was a great success. Phil Allen played for the senior Christmas Ball on December 20- This activity ended the activities for the year or 1946. THU LTDRAQY T E 1 ? On February 6, 1947, the Seniors sponsored the Cole brothers indoor circus. Afternoon and evening performances were given. The annual Senior Saint Patrick DBHCE was held March 14 with Ernre and His Plowboys. This round and square dance turned out to be one of the many very successful dances sponsored by the Class. A talent show giving a chance for the students of w.P.C.S. to show their ability was presented March 21. This gave a profit of 3120. On May 29 thirty-eight happy Seniors boarded the bus to spend the tour wonderful days of their Senior trip in the magic city of New York. Baccalaureate services will be held June 22. Plans have not yet been completed for class night, June25, which will end the activities for the class of '47. ' CLASS OF '48 As far as the Class of '43 was concerned, their year began on October 11th,1946 when they entertained the public at a gala Harvest Dance. Pumpkins. witches. and COPD SUHIKS DUB the dancers into the spirit ot fun and hilarity. The Happy Valley Boys supplied the music. The grand profit totaled . S111.39. and, incidentally. this ls more than any class has ever made on a harvest dance. January 25rd marked the birth of 42 blessed events---All tucked neatly within the confines of a little bundle. This happy surprise was the arrival of the Junior Class rings. Our main February project was the sale or personalized stationery. The Juniors proved their competence in sales- manshlp by selling 5575.00 worth ot orders which amounted to 3170.00 in profit. Winnie Barrows was our top sales- man lth ,. 0 t her credit- Th: rolfgiigg wgek .on February 12th, we broke the monotony or school with our St. Va1ent1ne's Dance. Jean Lewis was crowned Queen or Hearts,,whlle Marjorie wilber and Shirley Henderson were her ladies-in-waiting. Due to the high expenses only 340.00 profit was gained, but a record crowd was established. Then on February 28th, the always-experimenting Juniors made 317.50 by selling hotdogs at the whitney Point-Chenango Forks game. March and April were hectic months for the Class or '48, as preparations for 'Her Emergency Husband', the Junior Play, were under way. The cast included: Betty Lou Croft, Marilyn Freelove, Betty Ballard. Jean Lewis. Ruth Howard, Patsi Pennlngroth, Dick St.John, Lowell Smith. Nelson Jenks, Jack Brown and Jack Meade. Ana, last but not least, the Junior Prom on June 25th proved to be a fitting climax for the end of a happy year- :ally Brown supplied th e music. and a good time was had Y all.
