Slncl that tlme, each senlor class has llated the achlevements of the School durlng that year. CLASS OF '45 'lb Perhape you have never pald much attentlon to the bust of Shakespeare, whlch la In our rary across from that of Ben Franklln but he has r graduates of 1943--and thls ls what he saw. ce talnly kept 6.086 w.tch over our Thls Year's Senlors flrst came to hls attentlon when they were ln the mere adolescent stage of the seventh grade. From the flrst glance, he reallzed that here was a class worth watchlng--and they dldn't dlsappolnt hlm. The flrst year of hls acqualntance wlth thls lllustrlous group they spent most of thelr tlme ln learnlng the lns and outs of dunlor Hlgh llfe. ln the elghth grade they were jolned by Mary Plech, Blll Zelter and Herald Shearer. Stlll they perslsted ln thelr constant quest of knowledge, contlnually maklng llfe a llttle blt more pleasant for those around them--particularly the teachers. The next year they became Freshmen and woe unto hlm who called them nlnth graderel Madalyn Dorshlmer and Roylce Arnold flrst came lnto the gaze of Mr. Shakespeare that year. As Sophomores, 'the Immortal Bard' notlced a great change ln thls notable class. No longer were they contented wlth the mere educatlon. Thelr soclal llfe made Its flrat appear- ance. Qulte an appearance lt was too wlth the presentatlon of the flrat Roller Skatlng Panty-- an event which has slnce become very popular. Thelr Junlor year was no less spectacular for they contributed the flrst annual Harvest Dance to the hlstory of w.P.C.5. No less successful were the Junlor plays of that year 'Sparkln' and 'The Red Lamp'. ln June they paid homage to the Senlors wlth a Junlor Prom ln the 'South American lay'--lncludlng sombreros. The grand flnale for that year was a plcnlc at Llly Lake and thus was the year completed. At last the great goal was attalned--they were Senlors. The 'Great Thesplan' was able to watch more cloaely over them thls year as thelr homeroom was his domaln as well as Mlss wll- cox'. He hovered over thelr tables whlle they planned the Football Dance and supper and the halloween Roller Skatlng Party. Twlce durlng the wlnter he heard thelr exclted whlsperlng pre- cedlng and after two perfect slelghrldes. Next Mr. Shakespeare's gaze fell upon some Senlors and Mrs. Hathaway hustllng around buslly wlth llttle yellow books tucked ln amongst thelr Amer- lcan Nlstory and English, the result---'Tlger Housen. A llttle harmless boasting also reached hls ears durlng the year when the class took the lntramural champlonshlps ln football, fleld hockey, and boy's and glrl's basketball. lell, the class of 1943 ls graduatlng and leavlng W.P.C.S. but contrary to Nr. Hamlet 'To be or not to he' ls not the questlon. The Senlors wlll deflnltely Be--and lf you don't belleve Shakespeare, then walt and see. Page 29 x s xx, r g 'R 4 K N JA Q an .XS if , g.
