'l YPE Becky and Russell enjoy a romantic walk while in Austin. This was a very exciting year for the Speech and Drama Club. They sold GooGoo bars again and hosted a speech tournament. Those teams competing were: Grandview, Hillsboro, Blooming Grove, Crawford, Clifton and Glen Rose, with Lorena coming out on top. Mr. Thiele advised a large number of students for UIL events. Two students advanced to Regional in Stephenville. Russell Lyday advanced in persuasive speaking and Dale Bailey advanced in the informative speaking category. Page editor Becky Wilkins Belinda wakes up with an appetite to match Lance's! Mr. Thiele kicks 'er back after a long night of viewing One Act Plays at Austin.

At the annual Liber Socius Halloween party the Gilligan's Island Gang won first place. They included Joe Thurston Price, Danette Lovey Lampson, Scott 'tGiIligan Shaw, Nella Maryanne Peterson, Johnny Professor Hill, Kelley Ginger Reed, and Lance l'Skipper Reader. The group enjoyed touring the park and visiting the amusement area next door. Someone in the groupthought itwould beaneat idea to buy water guns. As it turned out, about 30 people decided it was a great idea! Besides being a wonderful way to cool off, it was a terrific way to get even with someone! All in all itwas afun trip,except forthe time we spent waiting for Brad Weiss and Dale Bailey to join us for the trip home. I l I1 x Q Y...
