With a district title in mind, Lady Wildcat's Coach Ray Collins and his team set out for their goal. However, they found their hopes diminished by some other teams who set out to do the same thing. K They earned third in district behind Glen Rose and Grandview. They had an outstanding season and won first in The Lake Whitney Classic for the second consecutive year. The Junior Varsity girls had a season that gained them experience and improvement. They were under the coaching influence of Mr. Jack Martin.

Sporting Life in the Fast Lane E Front row: Kristi Bacher, Shannon Richmond, Patricia Craver, Back row: Becky Wilkins, Donna Townzen, Rebekah Royer, Coach Ray Collins. Page editors - Belinda Booth and Jill Callaway 'Nm Silks... Freshman Shannon Richmond gives it all she's got in the 100 yard dash. Donna Townzen awaits the 440 relay. The varsity girls track team consisted of only 6 girls but was very successful in the district track meet in Glen Rose. Becky Wilkins placed 3rd in the hurdles and Kristi Bacher earned 5th in the high jump. Bacher, Donna Townzen, Shannon Richmond, and Patricia Craver ran in the 440 yard dash and placed 3rd, Other entries were: Shannon Richmond - 100 yard dash and high jump, Patricia Craver - 100 yard dash and discus, Kristi Bacher - 220 yard dash and Rebekah Royer - shot put. The girls were under the expert leadership of Coach Ray Collins. Running the 220 yard dash, Kristi Bacher strides it out at the Glen Rose district track meet.
