-ww W Dallas millionaire H. Ross Perot, Chairman of the Governor's Select Committee on Reforming Education, made daily newspaper headlines in 1983-843 when he publicly criticized the Texas Public School System. The committee was formed by Gov. Mark White. lt's purpose is to compile a set of feasable solutions to the problems in the public schools. The committee is made up of several prominent civic and business leaders. The committee made its formal disclosure of their suggestions to the TSTA in Waco a short time back. Suggestions put down by the SCORE Committee were met with mixed feelings by the crowd present and it will be up to a forced session of the Legislature for the proposals to pass. One of the major points discussed in the proposal was the restriction of extracurricular activities such as football, basketball, and other UlL activities. These suggestions increase eligibility standards and decrease time allowed for the events. lf these proposals were passed, school would be forced into a very bad time and financial position. gi . sat 1' 12.2
