Seasons Summary W.H.S.-13 Glen Rose-40 In their fifth straight loss of the season the Wildcats fell to Glen Rose 40-13. Glen Rose held a 35 pound weight advantage against the Wildcats but it didn't keep the Wildcats from the one yard line and the score stood 19-6 at the half- time. The Wildcats' other marker was made by Jakey Younger on a 28 yard run. W.H.S.-25 Abbott-12 The Whitney Wildcats got started off right in District Play when they defeated Abbott 25-12. The Wildcats had lost all their non-district games but one. Rory Younger, Don Gant, and Kenneth Wallace got the scores. W.H.S.-13 Dawson-0 Not expected to be a contender in the district race the Wildcats won over a highly rated Dawson team 13-O. Dawson on a Wildcats fumble stayed in Whitney's territory early in the game and drove to the Wildcats one yard line and ten yard line but were stopped short. The first touchdown was scored on a pass from Jakey Younger to Rory Younger for 13 yards. Don Tidwell added the extra point. The other touchdown was scored on a four yard drive by fullback Jakey Younger. W.H.S.-6 Hubbard-33 For three quarters the Whitney Wildcats played nip and tuck with the Hubbard Jaguars but then fell under a fourth period surge by the Jaguars to lose 33-6. The Jaguars scored the second play of the game but Whitney managed to contain them until the fourth period. Whitney's only talley came on a 30 yard pass from Jakey Younger to Rory Younger. Whitney's running attacks were somewhat limited as Don Gant and Jakey Younger were injured. w.H.s.-13 Bynum-6 With only ten seconds left in the game a pass from Kenneth Wallace to Rory Younger enabled the Wilcats to win 13-6 victory over Bynum. The Wildcats moved 65 yards in five plays to set up the clincher. The Wildcats finished second in the District race. 5' fit pi X. E , WHITNEY COACHES
