SENIOR This senior class 1935 at Whitmer as the we were the objects of CLASS HISTORY made its debut in the fall of ousual timid freshmen. As such, the traditional ridicule and persecution that is dealt out to freshmen. This, how- ever, did not interfere with our ambitions to make our high school careers successful. WithNHssILaskey as our class advisor, we started the year byelecting our officers and planning a class party. a For our sophomore year we chose Bud Jacobs,Bres+ identg Carl Taber, Vice-president, Kay Osgood, Secre- tary-treasurerg and Luther Haney, Sergeant-at-Arms. We got our first taste of getting along together so- cially outside of our classrooms at our sophomore party which was followed by a picnic at Devil's Lake. Entering our junior year we elected Merry Lynn Willis, Presidentg Jack Schwanger, Vice-president, Eileen Martens, Secretary, and Margaret Crabb,Treas- urer. To make this year a memorable one we brought forth such social events as the Armistice Dance, the NFoo Frolicn, the J-Hop, the Junior-Senior Party, and an all day picnic at Wampler's Lake. Mr. Beard suc- cessfully conducted a splendid cast of juniorsthrow- ugh our first play, UStreamlined Sueu. Feeling very dignified and sophisticated, we returned to Whitmer as seniors, nearing the end of our goal. As the end of the year drew nearer and graduation was in sight we began to feel that we would not be so glad to leave Whitmer as we had thought at the first of the year. Although we tried our best to maintain the dignity of seniors, it was hard because of the apalling number of freshmen who descended upon us with what we thought wasplenty'of nerve and noise. Undoubtedly we take a prejudicekd view of the situation. On reminiscing we no doubt would find that the seniors who reigned when wewmre freshmen thought that we should have been much more insignificant than we were. 5.4.2-.., W, 7,..,,i ,L 1 -1 :-

At our first class meeting we selected Walter Grd- ves, President, Herbert Carrick, Vice-presidentg Martha Corbett, Secretary, and Jack Schneider, Treasurer. The Annual Senior Hop, a skating party, ond'UheSham rock Swing hurried post leaving pleasant memories. The social climax of the year was the Senior Prom which was preceded by the long-to-be-remembered Junior- Senior Party, Last but not least in the achievement of our class was the goodly number of students whose scholastic Q- bility placed them on the honor roll. Commencement and all ferewells over, we wi.s11 to leave to each class behind us the hope that i.t will obtain still d richer and deeper appreciation of its years in high school. , 5 A Lu' r' V7 5 V .Q ,W .
