Phillip H. Johnson, Jr. Principal Fight the good fight with all thy might. In this month of June, Nineteen Hundred and Fifty-five, the members of the graduating class of Whitman High School, in company with many thousands of other young men and young women, proudly step forth from the halls of academic learning to face the practical reality of life in a world which longs for peace but yet is torn by strife between two ideologies--freedom and slavery, You graduates have honorably completed twelve years of public school education. Some go forward to further education and training, while others will enter the world of business and industry at once. The way of truth and light leading to peace and freedom is not an easy road to follow, Many conflicts must be fought and you must constantly be on your guard against the foes of freedom who by their propaganda and pressure seek to divide and conquer. Right and truth will triumph in the end if all people will arm themselves with the weapons of freedom: faith in Almighty God and obedience to His will, love of country and a form belief in her institutions, and a high degree of character, integrity, and moral responsibility, Join the army of freedom, you seniors. -- Fight the good fight with all thy might, --Go forth with con- fidence and faith. You take with you the prayers and best wishes of your parents, teachers, and friends. Leo J. Lane Hope Allen Boston College School Secretary Vice-Principal Head of the History Dep t 4
