FOREW RD We of the 1965 lnterim have attempted to create an image of Whitman-Hanson Regional High that will stand the test of time. New and highly creative concepts have been blended with the best of previous volumes to produce what we believe to be a yearbook ot exceptional quality. The i965 Interim is a chronicle of a year of experiences - not of a class, but of a school, not only stressing the ioys and sorrows of the past, but establishing a perspective into what is to come. It is a pause - an Interim - to reflect on life at Whitman-Hanson and, perhaps, to contemplate the future. When Whitman-Hanson alumni look in retrospect years hence, the true value of our new Student Life section will be realized. In it, we have concentrated not on individual personalities, but the qualities of the student's existence that make his school more than an edifice of education. We have endeavored to present the school as well as the student by removing modern achievements in the educational processes from the dubious record of memory, and highlighting them pictorially. The i965 lnterim has captured a part of the excitement and enthusiasm of the high school. lts purpose is to accentuate a panorama ot the school, the student, and the person. The Editors 3
