Amiable campaigning between parties Ok ffl S Q' 'Al' 'y'5 F an-'T I GOVER ME T Removing the study of government and politics from the classroom to the field of action has been one of our greatest achievements in bring- ing the practical side of politics to the students. These words of Social Studies Public Relations Chairman Frank D. Rodick sum- marize the value of Whitman- Hanson's Government program, regarded as a huge success and as a step forward in producing a truly informed citizenry. During the course, the students spent a large measure of their time in practical, rather than theoretical, employment of their knowledge. They were active in the i964 election campaign headquarters in Boston, heard government officials speak on the realities of cam- paigning, and observed their law- makers in action. lv STUDENT POLLSTERS: S. SCIENCE DEPARTME T Providing students with an opportunity to manifest ability and curiosity about their environment, Whitman- Hanson's science courses offer a means of self-instruction through practical application of knowledge gained in the classroom. Our fully-equipped laboratories provide an ideal atmosphere for students to experiment and formulate answers to their own questions about the wonders of nature. Students displaying curiosity and enthusiasm for science experiment and construct proiects for presentation at the annual Science Fair, long one of the school's maior attractions. The important outcome, Principal Elton B. Smith has said of the Science Fair, is the development of the wisdom, character, and ambition that is symbolized by the proiects being presented by these students. 1, l :li 3 ,L F' r I gf F ! ,. 2 The nasograph scientifically indicates a bad cold. , 9 F In Q. . i K i Q' ., ' if l Y , ' .hm-Q , I ' I l ::i..- e l N .- 531 .,w, r 3' 3 r' S L ' xii 1 . 1 .
