Many of the club members qualified for State OEA Contest. Winning at district were L. Glick, S. Goodrich, S. Rubrake, V. Werstler, D. Kerschen- steiner, T. Williamson, D. Freds, M. Leitch, C. Keirn, D. Sellers, C. Loe, B. Michael, L. Hicks, and S. Bishop. State contest was held at Indianapolis. After two days of competing against other stu- dents from all over the state, Whitko came up with four awards. Receiving awards were (right) Sonya Rubrake, Mindy Leitch, Dan Sellers, and Dawn Freds. Two weeks later these four went to Nation- al OEA Contest at Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dan came home with a first place rating in general clerical. Dan is the first Whitko OEA Member to place at National Contest. The Art Club won many honors this year. The highest of honors, The Hallmark Award, went to Terry Eberly, Joni Kurtz, and P. Rosdil. Sunshine girls do many things throughout the year such as fund drives for Heart, Cancer and March of Dimes. They take their fathers on a “date,” take their grandparents to meet their friends, serve their mothers a salad bar, and lastly, spread sunshine into the heart of their one Ideal Lady.
