Members of student council, consisting of six representatives from each class, worked together on several projects. Starting off in the fall was Homecoming. Voted as Homecoming Queen was Senior, Jill Stark. Blue derby hats with ''Whitko stitched on the front were sold as a money making project and to promote spirit at the basketball games. HONORS TO WHITKO FFA 1 TEAM First in the nation was the distinction awarded to Whitko High School's Farm Management Team at the National FFA Contest in Kansas City. Competing against 32 other states, the team of Randy Kelsey, Joe Kessie and Keith Schuman scored 730 points from a possible 900, beating the number two state team by 17 points. Sponsored by John Deere, the National FFA Farm Business Management Contest measures the ability to apply economic principles in analyzing farm businesses.
