NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY The National Honor Society is not a social organization as are the majority of the clubs at Whiting, but it is a scholastic organization founded in 1922. Dances and the annual initiation are the only activities sponsored by the society. There are two elections held each year at the beginning of the first semester and the end of the second semester. The nominations for the elections are based on scholarship. The actual elections are based on four qualifications—character, scholarship, leadership, and service. 22
