YEARBOOK STAFF LEFT TO RIGHT: M. Kahle, S. Neun, C. Forman, B. Duhme, R. Sale, T. Hagnauer, A.. Gazzoli, Miss Kaufman, C. Green, P. Moulton, M. Lewis, C. Engler, E. Green. Although most of the meetings began as gossip sessions because of the majority of girls on the staff, a glance at the production schedule brought more work and less talk. Angela Gazzoli, our editor, with an occasional nudge from Miss Kaufman, our adviser, kept us moving toward that seemingly unimaginable goal--completion. Connie Green served as assistant editorg Pam Moulton, layout editorg Claudia Forman, literary editorg Benton Duhme, art editorg and Matt Van Dyke, sports editor. Our thanks go to Curt Engler, photography editor, for all his excellent photographs. Randa Sale served as advertising manager with Mike Lewis as a very conscientious assistant. Louise Nemec, business manager, succeeded in juggling the books and keeping us out of the red. And the circulation manager, Ted Hagnauer, handled the sale of the finished product. The staff especially wishes to thank Mr. Derrickson for the photographs which he contributed to the ILIAD. We also appreciate the additional pictures supplied by Ken Mc Kenna of the Press Club and other student photographers. Special assistants Liz Green, Marcy Kahle, and Sherry Watkins helped in making this year's yearbook fin the words of our editorj the biggest and best yet. 54

PRESS CLUB LEFT TO RIGHT: R. Eisenbeis, I. Shultz, B. Starr, S. Rounce, D. Nemec, I. Freiheit, Mr- DCFHCRSOH, B- Duhme' J- Neun, I. Lieberman, H. Giese, E. McKenna, T. Seidel. When the school decided to expand its activities program in the last semester of the '64-'65 academic year, the antecedent and component groups of the Whitfield Press Club were the first to function. These student groups included THE WHITFIELDER, which had failed to publish at all during the preceding fall semester, and the Exhibition Commit- tee. The news magazine put out two issues in the spring semester of 1965 and one so far this year. The first exhibition of the committee, headed by Benton Duhme '67 was held at the1965 spring picnic and consisted of back issues of both school publications and layout sheets of THE WHITFIELDER. Later shows included dust jackets of new library books, historical documents in facsimile reporduction, cartoons of literary subjects, and photographs of school activities. J. Curtis Engler and Stocker Vosburgh, both '66, served as circulation co-managers and were succeeded by Henry Giese '67 as circulation manager and Judith Neun '69 as exchange editor. The club as a whole was an unusually representative activity, including members of every class in school. They elected Benton president and Judith Neun vice -president. Jeff Lieberman served as WHITFIELDER editor for the first half of the year and Benton for the second half. Duhme is to edit the magazine next year. Jack Freiheit '68 headed the Press Correspondents' Club, which played news stories in daily and weekly newspapers, and Edward McKenna '67 guided the Camera Club, which offered photographs to school publications and to the Exhibition Committee. Members of all classes contributed by-line stories to THE WHITFIELDER. and the maintenance of a school scrapbook of press clippings was charged to three seventh -graders--Ruth Eisenbeis, Betsy Jackson, and Berrien Starr. Mr. Howard Derrickson served as adviser to the club. 56
