For the third year the tenth grade class has supported its Korean Foster Child, with the money earned from bake sales. Also for the third consecutive year, the class party, sponsored by the Mothers' Council, was held at Dr. and Mrs. Burst 's house. The party had a beatnik theme. For the first time the class officers held their positions for a full school year. They were: Linda Fowler, presidentg Matt Van Dyke, vice- presidentg Jean Crawford, secretary-treasurer. 33

The junior class had an active year. Under the direction of Mrs. O'Brien and Miss Young, the class elected Edward McKenna as president, Helen Neuman, vice-presidentg Alexandra Buschman, treasurerg and Ted Hagnauer, secretary. The representative to the Social Council was Connie Green. Henry Giese was appointed by the directors to be Student Council representative. The class welcomed newcomers Alexandra Buschman from Kirkwood High School, Edward McKenna from Chaminade, and Susan Neun from Kinkaid School in Houston, Texas. FRESHMAN CLASS FIRST ROW: B. Katz, P. Rounce, J. Neun, L. Budke, P. Hunter, N. Mills, L. Dreyer, N. Macdonald, N. Katz, D. Nemec. SECOND ROW: C. Pettus, R, Wilson, J. Collins, A. Kerckoff, A. Delf, E. Benoist, M. Kratz, R. Laycob, L Roos, M, Johnson. The ninth grade became a class of twenty this year, with the addition of seven new students, five from St. Louis-Laura Budke, Lynn Dreyer, Mitchell Johnson, Dick Laycob, and Nancy Macdonald-and Art Kerckoff from Michigan and Judy Neun from Texas. The class is intent upon developing all its talents, even in such unacademic areas as the culinary arts. The evidence of its excellence in the last area was demonstrated at the bake sale. The money from this effort went into the class treasury. The class has also contributed to the United Fund.
