CCNCERT BAND DIRECTOR: LT. COL. S. E. MEAR This ylear's band has developed more maturity of tone and balance as well as technical ability through performance of many varied Works de- signed to accomplish these results. Important events included the annual trip to Riverview Park, Chicago, the Elkhorn Fair, home games, concerts, and contest events. Fifteen mem- bers Were selected to represent the band at the Massed Band Concert held February 19 at Hartland. They were Carmen Catania, Marilyn Hunt, Irene Pollock, Nancy Gerner, Sharon Marshall, Ronette Pieper, Pam Knox, Lani Benner, Mary Sprecher, Janet Shadel, Jeanette Ferguson, Jim Deh- ler, Joe Tenpenny, Charles Washburn, and Bill Hunt. May 11, 1956 was the date of the annual Junior Prom. The theme, Coral Capers, appiopuately sug gested the extensive underwater decorations. Miss Louise Christenson, Mr. Kenneth Nehring and Steve Moksnes directed the decorating activities. These people did an outstanding job of helping to create an ef feet of an under-water paradise. At nine-thirty that evening, King Chuck Regez officially crowned his Queen, Martha Stevenson in the presence of the Court of Honor.
