The Cfhaptel' with the hc-lp of Mr. Alensen has tried many new things this year, one of which is the Tri-County Farm Institute, with three counties taking part. 'lhe Chapter also witnessed the National Corn Picking contest at tht Tracy Farms in Alanesville. The juniors and seniors visited the l. Case factory in Racine and received a free meal, The freshmen and sophomores went to the Junior Livestock Show in Madison. AXVARD NIGHT Paul Smith was the Star Chapter Farmer and lilroy Trewyn received the Dc-Kalb Achievement Award, F.F.A, letters were received by Howard Sweno. Ronald Taylor, and llill liethke. The following boys received gifts from the Dadmun Award: A. lirokmeier, bl. Rice, G, Coxe. Vannoy, D. Neidlein. and D. Scharine.

When school started, a party was given for the new members. At the Homecoming parade, the float which the F. H. A. entered with the theme 'Geneva's All Laid Out received third place. On November 9, F. H. A. girls had a leadership training conference in which dif- ferent schools took part. A Christmas party was held in December. Christmas gifts were exchanged. A candy sale, bake sale, and a mixer were sponsored during the year. Page Twenty-Three

l , , TRI-COUNTY INSTITUTE Over 200 farmers and their wives attended the new prograrn this year. There was a free meal pro- vided by the Wfhitewater Chamber of Commerce. F.F.A HANQUET This was a non-profit meal for parents. There were about 150 people present. Don Hale, state F.F.A. Vice President, was the speaker. The following awards were made: Farm Mechanics, Eugene Frodelg Soil and Waiter Management. jerry Grantg Dairy Farmer, Lauren Mcskeg Swine Medals, Howard Sweno, Ronald Taylor and jim Christbaumg Sheep Medals, LeRoy Vohs, jerry Vannoyg Corn. Richard Scharine, james Rice and Ronald Schoppe. CHRISTMAS CARD SALES The card sales, like the scrap drive, raised money for the Chapter to use throughout the year. The Chap- ter grossed about S800 in card sales this year. The faculty adviser for all these activities is Mr. Jensen, who has proved to be tireless in his efforts in behalf of his group and a real leader in all of their activities. FUT RE FARMER OF .
