DEDICATION We, the Senior Class of 1980, would like to dedicate our yearbook to a very deserving man, Mr. David Palmiter. You are a su- perb history teacher whose Regents record during your 14 years here is unrivaled. As a teacher and as a friend, you have been a guiding light . When any of us had a problem that we felt was unsolvable, you could be counted on to make it seem simple. You prepared us for more than just the Regents exam in our junior year; you helped us on our way to a happy and successful life. Your practice of priding yourself on excellence and encouraging it in others taught us all to take a special care in anything we do. You have always been able to fulfill your extra duties as Vice Principal and National Honor Society advisor and still find time to be a good friend to each and every one of us. When we had an argument or dispute with a teacher, you could always be counted on to be a fair and objective mediator. You are always poised and confident under pressure and have developed that trait in all of us. Whenever our history classes were slowly fading into a moment of dullness or boredom, you always brought back our atten- tion with a crazy joke or by reading the school lunch menu with your special phraseology and comments. When the days be- gan getting long and tempers started getting short, you allowed us to release the pressures and stress by having a party. Your relaxed attitude and good sense of humor always made life seem a little easier. We are all proud to have been a part of your classes and to have had you as a friend. Thank you!!! 4

All those crazy study halls And we can't forget writing on the bathroom walls. Remember how we studied before a big test And couldn't wait to see who had done best? But those days are almost gone; They're fading away like the words to a song. Soon my friends and I will go our own ways. And in our future days We'll always know which way to turn. Looking back on what we've learned. The days of carefree pleasure. The days we thought would last forever.

We, the ' animals of 1980 , would like to express our deep and sincere appreciation to Mrs. Carole O'Hagan. You have dedicated yourself to our class over the last three years and helped us in many ways. We are all more poised and skilled in speaking, writing and understanding literature because you are a tremendous English teacher. When we have needed someone to confide in, you have always been available and willing to listen. You have been a great advisor because you have always stood beside us when things seemed to be going badly and willingly giv- en up your time to be at our events. Even though our class has had some disagreements, we have always been able to talk to you and solve our problems peacefully. We want you to know that we appreciate everything you have done for us as teacher, advisor and a great friend who has helped us solve any problem that arose. We are all proud and happy to have had you be a part of our lives. Thanks!!! APPRECIATIONS The Class of 1980 would like to express our gratitude to a most deserving person. Miss Susan Hillman. We deeply appreciate the time and effort you have given us as a teacher and as the yearbook advisor. Your spe- cial talent as a math teacher has produced results which will surely help us in future years. The stick- to-it-iveness you have taught us has shown us how much pleasure we can experience when we stay with a problem until we find the answer. Many things we thought were difficult were made easier by your friendly personality. As well as solving mathematical problems, you seemed to have done a nice job of solv- ing problems of life. This yearbook would not have been the same with- out the special attention you have given it. You have helped make it something special for each one of us. Reflections of the good times we have had with you will remain with us for years to come. Thanks for just being you! 5
