WYCENIAN 1972 WHITESVILLE CENTRAL SCHOOL WHITESVILLE, N.Y. VOLUME XXX Compliments of SUPER DUPER Compliments of BOARD OF EDUCATION FOREWARD Together we become a class or a school, but if you look at each of us as individuals you will find that we are made up of many different moods and emotions. It is upon these Moods and Emotions that we would like to base this yearbook. We are individuals. As individuals we form together with those who share our moods, and we can express our emotions freely. At times there are numerous other individuals who share these emotions which are brought out by school. At other times we find ourselves alone with these emotions. As individuals we respect the rights of others to bring their emotions out freely or to harbor them within themselves. That is one of the things about a group. You can be in the mid- dle of it and be part of it, or you can be in the middle of a group and still be alone. Either way you are being yourself, and expressing your mood or emotion in your own way. In this yearbook we would like you to see that some emotions can be shown openly on a face. Some of these emotions might be laughter, doubt, anger, disgust, or just all over happiness. Then too you can see suppressed emotions. You may not know what the person is trying to suppress, but you see it hiding there, just under the surface. Whether stu- dents voice emotions or show them quietly, each contains a real meaning. We hope that as you as an individual looks at this yearbook, within you there will be aroused some emotions that will please you and that would make us feel as if our yearbook had served its real purpose. Spec 4 Donald Pensyl September 25, 1950 - August 31, 1971 IN MEMORY OF Don was a 1968 graduate of our school. In June of 1970 he entered the service and November of that year found him being sent to Viet Nam. In August 1971 Don was fueling some equipment when there was an explosion in which he was severly burned. His death, August 31, 1971 was a result of pneumonia which set in while being treated for these burns. Those who knew him best remember him as a quiet, sensitive, person. His moods were re- spected and he had many friends. We, as a class, extend our sympathy to his family for their great loss. Don was the husband of Betty Kellogg Pensyl, and a brother of Lois Pensyl both of whom are in our graduating class. Compliments of MILES BRADFORD COMPANY As we come to the end of this important part of our lives, we realize we are only just beginning our walk down the road of life. Here we were secure, we were amongst old friends, and most important of all we under- stood each other, we respected the moods of our class- mates and here we carried out our emotions to the fullest. As we leave here, we will lose most of this. Our lives will involve others, our emotions will change. However we sincerely hope that our respect for othres, and our own need for changing emotions will not be suppressed. For without emotions and moods we would have no personality, and without personality, life would not be worth living. So we ask of all who meet us along the road, to care, and lend a helping hand. We'll try to understand your moods and emotions if you'll try to understand ours. - The Editor - 43 SENIOR HOROSCOPE Name Shallee Baham Shall Virginia Billings Ginny Mary Churchill Mary Lynn Mary Ellison Angi Kathleen Flanagan Kathy Mary Sue Folts Fuzz Dennis Graves Denny” Terry Jacobs Jake” Diane Kellogg Di- Anita Lewis Nita Kim McAllister Kim Betty Pensyl Bunkey Lois Pensyl Turkey Deborah Plaisted Deb Thomas Polaski Tom- Monte Richmond Richmond T imothy Sherman Worm Lynn Sherwood Lynn Susan Spicer Cow Georgia Swort George Richard Wright Rich Favorite Saying Right on!
