Also Kathy Ransom and Janice Val- lerles entered the second week. The twenty-three girls and boys have progressed satisfactorily in all phases of our work and play. The boys enjoy the new sandbox on the playground. The girls prefer the swings and Climb Around. Our class enjoys the new toys and we appreciate the repairs that Mr, Strever’s class has done for us. GRADE ONE During November the First Grade studied the Life of the Early Pilgrims. In Art class we drew pictures of Pilgrims and Indians and made a Pilgrim Poster. We made a bulletin board scene of the Pilgrims in America, wrote experience charts, learned the poem, My Turkey and viewed many pictures of the Plymouth Colony with use of the Opaque Projector. We learned how the Early Pilgrims wove doth and braided rugs. Terry made an Indian bow and arrow. Danny found a rock and we painted 1620 on it. Dean made a replica of the May- flower out of a squash with pipe cleaner masts and white sails. We crinkled blue paper for the Atlantic Ocean. We Joined with the Kindergarten to help them celebrate the First Thanksgiving Day. The Kindergarten sang, Gobble, Gobble and a song of thanks. What a lot of fun we hadl How much we learnedl 2k This erftire page is sponsored by CHAPMAN-BURROUS
