SECOND GRADE We were very happy to see our room newly decorated with the pretty colors when we returned this last fall. Soon after school started we lost two members. Gregory Rounds moved to Alfred and Christine Smith also left. We were sorry to see them go. We were happy, however, to gain two new members. Sue Ann Ford and June Parks joined us in the fall. Perfect attendance for the first semester were as follows: Ronald Hall, Buddy Hazzard, Eddy Joe Matteson, and Sharon Sherwood. Our assembly program came in the spring. As usual, our year passed too swiftly to do all that we wanted to do. 26 This entire page is sponsored by MINGES DAIRY

THIKD GRADE The nineteen boys and fifteen girls in our room this year studied two new subjects, Social Studies and Science. In our Social Studies we learned about workers at home and away. We especially enjoyed the experiments in Science. We learned about magnets, electricity, the earth we live on, and the sky above us. We made telescopes and some of the star constellations. Our entertainment program this year consisted of the following: a lovely Christmas tree which we all decorated, an exchange of presents and many treats. In February we gave our assembly program which consisted of three short plays. FIRST GRADE There were twenty-five children who entered first grade this year. They all enjoyed working and playing together. We have written several booklets, finding pictures to il- lustrate them. Some of the titles were; Dogs , On the Farm , Cars , Autumn , and Christmas . We learned most of the words in these booklets. e also had fun writing experience charts. Some of our other activities were: cutting words from mag- azines and mounting them, making picture charts, illustrating initial consonants, and rhyming words. Our Supplementary Reading Program was found to be very in- teresting to many children. With all these activities behind us, we hope to be good second graders next year. Back Row: Mary Sluyter, Leah Hunt, Diane Hallett, Joseph Allen, Dennis Pritchard, Kay Dibble, Donald Pensyl, Bruce Gorsky. Second Row: Anne Coats, Judith Canfield, Nancy Nye, Evelyn Kailboume, Jacqueline Graves, Lisa McCullough, Marlene Matteson, Nancy Carlosh, Jeffrey Lewis, Robert Ellison, Mrs. Coats.
