'Y ' z N.'4,' F . .21 .4 ' .4 A' I iiM l -,+ Q51 S! 1 J9' P Q w- bi 1 v , 1 , , viry3?33.L, W-,. 45'-I H ' ,'-yi. .Q ' .Rei Ah' 46 V ' BASKETBALL COLFAX vs NHITLQTOWN January 20, l9bB It finally happened, the Panthers lost their first game of the 1947 Q8 Season by the Score of Sl to 43 They lost to a ood ball team, but not that good Anyhow they were hitting approximately oi of their shots and that kind of shooting is hard to beat Although the Panthers outplayed the Hickories they just couldn't find the hoop Loveless Hickory center was ju t too much for tue Panthers He tossed 22 points through the nets for the scori honors Putting it short, those Hickories were just ntoo hot to handle DOVER vs WHITESTOWN January 23 l9k8 The Panthers got back on the victory trail by downing the skyscrapers from Dover S2 to ul The Panthers having tasted defeat for the first time at Colfax were in no mood to taste it again The Dover lads made it a Uood game for the first 20 minutes but tinally dropped out of the game when the Parthers continued to play one of their beet games of the season The Panthers ran and the Larger boys just couldn't stop their fast Break The Second Team continued their winning srreak by thumping the Little nlue Devils in the opener The Panthers cubs haven't tasted defeat since the opener with Carmel where they dropped a thrills by one point They show great promise as a future Varsity Five lhe second team is made up of mostly Freshmen and ophomores IIDIAPA STATL DEAF SCHOOL ahITESTOWN January 27 1948 The silent hoosiers proved to be a much stron,er team than the Panthers rad expected The oilent Hoesiers put up a courageous fight but finally lost a thriller Q2 to Ill The Panthers didn't look nearly as good sginst the Hoosiers as they dld against Dover It was the closest fame the Panthers have played in so far this year C Staten and Roseboom led the Panthers attack with 15 points apiece It was the Panthers fourteenth victory in fifteer starts P QQ!
