HISTORY OF BASKETBALL PLAYERS ROBERT ANDERSON Robert Anderson, a fine lad from Shawnee, Okla began his atheletic career at Lemodg Illinois where he played Rmtball and NB' Team Basketball He then moved to Zionsville, Indiana where he played on the WB' Team as a Sophomore He moved from Zionsville to Whitestown and became ineligible his Junior year due to the transfer rule As a Senior Bob was at his best and was in the Panthers starting lineup in every game Bob also did a good job holding down the hot corner' on the Panthers Softball Team and was a handy man with the bat He shall receive one stripe on his honor sweater Robert is a fine athelete and is well liked by the student body The Senior Class wishes Bob all the luck in the World Ralph Roseboom , quite sometime a teammate O! Woody Whitestown where he Engledow As a Fre every game four years. 8 RALPH ROSEBOOM a lad from Perry Twp das been playing basketball for played his first basketball at Lindbergh where he was Staten in his fifth and sixth year He then moved to played on the Jr High Team with another teammate,D1ck hman and Sophomore, he played on the Panther 'Bn Team His Junior year saw him on the Varsity where he was a valuable substitute. In his Senior year he proved to be worth his weight in gold by being one of the teams leading scorers He was in the Panthers starting lineup in He also won letters on the softball and baseball teams all Ralph is one of our finest students and the Senior Class wishes him a very successful future He shall receive two stripes on his sweater LOWELL HULL Lowell Hull, our smiling lad from Crooked Creek, Larion County, played two years under Vorce Smith at Pike in his Junior Figh days He played for Pike in his Freshman year and then moved to hhitestown he played on the Panther 'B' Team that year but the next year he was one of the Panther saw a lot of action as a Junior In his Senior year he was beaten out of a regular starting position but was a valuable substi tute Lowell will receive two stripes We the Senior Class wish Lowell Hull all the luck in the world HENRY JONES Henry Jones born in Union Twp , attended Lindbergh and Gadsden Grade School before becoming a Freshman at the Whitestown High School As a Freshman and a Sophomore Henry Played on the WB' Team He made the varsity in his Junior year and saw action in several games In his Senior year he was a very valuable substitute He played softball all four years Henry will receive two stripes The Senior Class wishes Henry a very successful future LEROY GEORGE Leroy Ceorge is a blond headed boy from Clarks Hill, Tippencanoe County He first entered the athletic field at Anderson where he participated in track, Basketball, Archery, Pole Vault, Softball and Baseball He moved to Uhitestown in his Freshman year As a Sophomore and Junior he played on the HBH team As a Senior he made the varsity where he saw considerable action as a reserve Leroy will receive one stripe, to Leroy, the Senior Class extends their best wishes Continued on next page S 11 'H L' iss? r1g !nIIIIIy'1Lf?,4 JY r sn 3? -l 41 N . ' 45.9, -nit' -'.,'Q :- Qian ' , r -., Jig, 3 1' RICHARD UNGLEDOW Richard Engledew is the only member of the team that went to Whltestown all twelve years He also is one of the two whom rade the varsity all four years serve a Junior and Senior he made the regular starting lineup where he received the respect of all his opponents Dick was one of the teams most spirited ball players He was strong on defense as well as offense Dick is well respected by all team members Hichard also played Softball his Junior and Senior year he shall receive four stripes The Senior Class wishes him all the success in life that is possible He played his Freshman and Sophomore years as a varsity re WOODROW STATON Woody Staton who started playing basketball at Lindbergh is the other four letter man on the team He played three years on the Lindbergh team As a Freshman he made the varsity and played his next three years on the varsity team He played baseball one year and softball three years Woody will receive four stripes Good luck to you Woody! VIRTUE Leon Jirtue started his career ln athletics at Union 'rade School where he participated in Basketball ani Softball in his 7th and 8th grades H then became a Freshman at 'hitestown High School where he went out for Basketball and played on the UB' Team his Freshman and Sophomore years A a Junior, Leon made the varsity and has been very active and he was a very valuable reserve Leon also played baseball his Freshman year and Softball his Sophomore, Junior and Senior years Leon has been a very valuable sutstitute in his Senior year He will receive two stripes for his hardwood service The best of luck to you, Leon!
