DOMEWARD BOUND Last year band director Casey Hayes and the Marching Warriors again brought many trophies and ribbons back to the school. The big- gest achievement for the Marching Warriors was having a chance to compete at the Indianapolis Hoosier Dome. This was a very exciting time for the band members. Commented Megan Coots, “Last year’s senior class went to the Dome when they were freshmen, placing 8th in the state. When we received a Division I at Regionals, I knew it was our turn to show Indiana where Whiteland ‘is’. We strutted our stuff on the as- troturf and marched away with 6th place!” The band also went to band camp last year at St. Joseph’s College. They practiced very hard every day from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. All of this practice definitely paid off many times. The Marching Warriors proved this as they ended their competitive season with such awards as Division I Regionals, Divi- sion I District, and received a 6th place rating in the state. A.
