McDonald Knot picturedj. Students of today Recognizing outstanding students serves two pur- posesg it is a thanks for their contribution, and an incentive to continue toward high goals. Several titles and prizes were awarded to WCHS students this year. Girls' and Boys' States were held over the sum- mer, four delegates were chosen and in addition, four alternates were named. Girls' State delegates, spon- sored by a local sorority, were Karen Giroud and Jeanne Cosat, their alternates were Cindy Black and Connie Garrison. Charles Brantley and Dale Barnett were sent to Boys' State, sponsored by the Sunshine Society. Their alternates were J eff Favinger and Gary Hudson. For a week in June the students lived in cities at I.U., learning how to conduct the busi- ness of government.
